Preparation

  • Gather materials.
  • Review sight word list.

Extensions:
For early learners, focus on only one sight word at a time, or focus on matching upper and lower case letters.

For advanced learners, focus on cutting out individual letters to spell the sight words or consider connecting the words to a specific theme.


Verbal Prompts

First, choose and read a sight word (or look at a list of words to pick from).
Next, open the magazine (or newspaper) and look for the word.
Then, when you find the word cut it out and glue it onto the paper.
Next, choose another sight word.
Then, look in the magazine or newspaper to find the word and cut it out and glue it onto the paper.

Finally, read all the words you glued on the paper.
